Medusa Puppet Concept by Pylo Medusa Puppet Concept by Pylo
This charming lady is a character design concept for a giant puppet to be used at the Welshampton Festival of Fire in October. The puppet will be mounted on a high bailer (a fork-lift truck with a telescopic arm) and raised about 30' above the ground. The controller for the eyes (iiluminated) and mouth (articulated) will be inside the head. The two arms will be controlled by long poles along the forearm and extending horizontally backwards from the elbow joint. She will have claw like hands with which she will pull herself along towards the (hopefully) terrified audience.

I hope to indulge my passion for terrifying small children to the max this year! ;)

not yet. :(

SHOULD know by the end of the week....we NEED to know ASAP as if not we have to let the professionals we have booked know :S

As it is I now have 25kg of withies and 300 sheets of wet-grade tissue paper waiting to go so I figure even if its cancelled I'll go ahead with the lantern workshops. The kids can do a lantern lit Xmas parade or something...

See the crying children all running away, look how they run.
Silly children.
See Mr Evans with his happy little chuckle as their little sphincters loosen,
Cleaver Mr Evans.

;)

Nice work Phill!

Sounds great ^^ you could even use those blowy things (leaf blowers) into tubes of material for the hair to snake around crazy style.

It sounded better in my head.

I've already got dibs on some corrugated tubing (the stuff used for land drainage...) I have a section on which I am experimenting... I also have halogen lamps and wiring for the eyes and ideas for increasing the visual effect by raising the shoulders behind the head to make the head look spookier..... I am a HAPPY bunny!
